Sylvia Goolsby Frazier

Sylvia Gooslby Frazier 83 of Lake City, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at WillowBrooke Assisted Living in Lake City. She was born on September 4, 1942 in Fayetteville, Georgia to the late Edward and Margaret Cannon Goolsby. Sylvia grew up in Lavonia, Georgia where she graduated high school and went on to study at the University of Georgia. Her favorite class was Home Economics. She was married to Charleigh Brown for 26 years. During that time, she worked diligently, providing a stable home and wonderful upbringing for her three children. The second half of her life, she was married to William Frazier for 28 years. She Enjoyed retirement which included being a Master Gardener, decorating, Facebook posting, raising chickens and Koi fish, loving her grandchildren, slipping $20 dollar bills to anyone she could find, volunteering at the veterans domiciliary, traveling to North Georgia to visit her family and never meeting a stranger. One of her favorite sayings was “gather friends like flowers”, and that she did. She will be missed.

Survivors include her children, Chuck Brown (Afton), David Brown (Amy) and Libby Moore; two sisters, Barbara Payne and Edwina O’Neill; one brother, Douglas Goodsby; grandchildren, Joseph Moore, Joanna Ward, Amanda Cason, Charleigh, Luci and Linus Brown; great grandchildren, Lennon Cason and Carter Cason.

A memorial service will be conducted on Friday, August 14, 2026 at 3:00 PM in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
