Kathy "Kitty" Maddox

Our beloved Kathy “Kitty” Maddox gained her angel wings on Sunday morning, September 20, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer. Kitty was a cherished wife, mother, nana, memaw, sister, and friend whose love knew no bounds. She had a kind and compassionate heart and a beautiful spirit that brought comfort, warmth, and joy to everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her gentle presence, loving nature, and selfless heart touched countless lives. As an Army wife, Kitty spent many years traveling. Making a home wherever her husband’s service took their family. She embraced each new place with grace. Raising her children and supporting her husband through the many adventures and challenges that came with military life. Through the years, she created a loving and welcoming home for her family wherever they went.

Born in Morehead, Kentucky eventually, Kitty and her family settled in Lake City, Florida, where she continued to build a life centered around the people she loved most. She worked at Walmart for nearly ten years, where she served as a Customer Service Manager (CSM) before retiring. Although our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we are grateful for the years, memories, laughter, and love she shared with us. The precious moments we had with Kitty will be treasured forever, and her love will continue to guide and comfort us in the days ahead. She will be missed more than words can express and loved for all eternity.

Kitty was born in Kentucky on June 14, 1954, to the late Nellie Albright. She was preceded in death by her mother, Nellie Albright, and her brother, Paul Cornette.

Kitty leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband of 48 years, Philip E. Maddox Sr.; her children, Clarissa (Everett) Goodman, Philip (Cristin) Maddox II, Michael (Amanda) Maddox, Philip (Crystal) Maddox III, and Savannah Maddox; her grandchildren, Chelsea Ramirez, Kayla Maddox, Ashley Bailey, Brandon Goodman, Philip Maddox IV, Casen Maddox, Leon Lyons, Jace Maddox, Jacob Maddox, Kaden Maddox and Steve Davenport, and many beloved great-grandchildren; her sisters, Sharon Steele (Bob) Crockett, Diane (Dallas) Vance and brothers Alan (Debbie) Albright and Ray (Chris) Albright; and many loving relatives and dear friends.

Kitty’s life was a beautiful gift to all who knew her. She was deeply loved, cherished beyond words, and will be missed beyond measure. Her love and the light she brought into our lives will forever live on in our hearts, and her memory will remain with us always. She was truly one of a kind—and she will never

be forgotten.

A Celebration of Life honoring Kitty will be held at her home on Saturday October 3, 2026. Friends and extended family invited to join from 1:00pm to 2:00pm. Family will gather privately from 2:00pm to 4:00pm to celebrate Kitty’s life and share cherished memories.

Those wishing to honor Kitty’s memory may send flowers to her home or make a memorial donation to the American Cancer Society in her name.
