Janice Mott Jackson

Janice Mott Jackson, 78, passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon, September 19, 2026 after a extended illness. She was born in Starke, Florida on May 15, 1948 to the late Howard Mott and Jeanette Kelley Mott. She has made Lake City her home since 1967, moving here from the Brooker area. She worked for many years with the Lake Shore Hospital, retiring as a Human Resources Director. In her younger years she enjoyed playing softball; and she also enjoyed dancing, hula-hoping, singing and antiquing. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of over 45 years, Sam K. “Ken” Jackson; daughter, Jodi Jackson; her grandson, Brock Jackson and her four brothers, Milton, Kenneth, Hal and J.E. Mott.

She is survived by her son, Sam K. Jackson, Jr. (Mandi) of Allen, TX; grandchildren, Courtney Register (Justin) of Wellborn, Bethany Wood of St. Petersburg, Adam Wood (McKayla) of Lake City, Cole Jackson of South Carolina and Everleigh Jackson of Allen, TX. Four great-grandchildren, Camdyn Wood of Lake City, Gracie Register, Adalyn Register and Emmy Register all of Wllborn; and her sister, Annetta Andrews of Brooker also survive.

A funeral service for Mrs. Jackson will be conducted on Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Pastor Ronnie Sadler officiating. Interment will follow in the Jackson Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. prior to the service at the funeral home.
