Vivian, a cherished soul born on September 13, 1953, in the humble town of Lake City, Florida, peacefully departed this world on October 14, 2026, while surrounded by the warmth and love of her family and friends at home where she wanted to be, resting comfortably. Her passage marks the end of a vibrant life well-lived, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter that will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew her.
Vivian was the beloved daughter of the late John D. Luke and Mattie L. Stone. She is now reunited with her parents, along with her siblings and a niece Gloria Bryant, Eugene Luke, Wilbur D. Luke, Jenny K. Luke, and Penny Bryant in eternal rest. Her journey on this earth was enriched by the love of her surviving family, including her devoted children: sons Matthew R. Todd (Michelle) and William A. Luke, and her daughter Brenda Hutson. Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren Odin Luke, Matthew Todd, Cody Coontz, Desirae Todd, and Joseph Todd (Jordan) and four precious great-grandchildren. Vivian is also lovingly remembered by her brother Jimmy Luke, and a whole host of nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and nephews, along with lifetime friends like Britny Noel and so many more.
Vivian dedicated her professional life to the meticulous care of office buildings and banks, where she worked as a professional cleaner until she could longer work.. Her work ethic and attention to detail were matched only by her generosity and kindness. She was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, a testament to her compassionate nature.
Beyond her work, Vivian found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid fisherwoman, often found by the water's edge at any time of the day, reveling in the tranquility of nature. Her love for growing flowers added a touch of beauty to her surroundings, while her woodworking projects demonstrated her creativity and skill. She loved to watch her favorite TV shows and play online games. Above all, Vivian cherished the moments spent with her family, sharing stories from her past that would leave everyone in stitches. Her laughter was infectious, and her presence brought warmth to every gathering.
In the eyes of her family, Vivian was more than a mother, grandmother, and sister—she was a beacon of love, a storyteller, and a friend. Her memory will forever be cherished, and her absence deeply felt.
A private funeral ceremony will be held, honoring Vivian's wishes for an intimate farewell surrounded by those she held dear. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Vivian’s memory to a charity of choice, reflecting her spirit of giving and helping others.
Vivian was deeply loved by family and friends and will be missed very much. Her spirit will continue to guide and inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her, as she rests in peace, embraced by the love she so freely gave.
