William F Shiepe

William F. Shiepe, 97 of Lake City, passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at the Malcom Randall Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Gainesville.  Mr. Shiepe was born in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Fahead and Emily Shiepe.  He was a decorated World War II veteran having served in the United States Army.  Mr. Shiepe served in the European Theatre, African Middle Eastern Theatre and the Asiatic Pacific Theatre.  During his service in World War II, Mr. Shiepe was awarded 3 Purple Hearts and 1 Bronze Star.  Following his service he began his career as a chiropractor and traveled throughout the United States and abroad.  He was preceded in death by two brothers, Abe and Joe Shiepe, and three sisters, Annie Shiepe, Jessica Ballard and Agnes Shiepe.

Survivors include his siblings, Roy Shiepe, San Diego, CA, Fred Shiepe, Los Angeles, CA and Rose McCully, Los Angeles, CA; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services with military honors will be conducted at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
