Charles Patrick Norris, 49 of Lake City, passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2017. He was born in San Antonio, TX. He was a longtime resident of Lake City and a veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Norris was a talented woodworker and enjoyed drawing. He was a “Jack of All Trades” and worked many years in the construction industry. Mr. Norris was a social butterfly and was affectionately referred to by his grandchildren as “Opa”. He was preceded in death by his mother, Adriana Tensen and one daughter, Katana Sneed.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Norris, Lumberton, TX; his father Charles Norris (Judy), Lake City; five children, Thomas James “T.J.” Norris, Lake City, Tabitha Jean Norris Lauramore, Macclenny, Danny Bright, Jacksonville, April Brewer, Jacksonville and DeAnna Cannon, Lumberton, TX; two sisters, Ria Adriana Gaines (Wayne) and Gerrie Jean Guy (Mike) all of Lake City; one step brother, Troy Crews (Rhonda), Lake City; one step sister, Traci Slanker (Keith), Lake City; two nieces, Melinda Edwards, Lake City and Michelle Edwards, Jacksonville; and seven grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home with a visitation prior to the service starting at 10:00 AM till service time. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
