My heart goes out to the Roberts family. I met Sgt Roberts in 2004 at Columbia CI. And had the pleasure of working with him at Baker Ci also. He was the same everyday. He could always make me laugh. He was genuine and real! You don't meet people like him very often. Rest in peace my brother, gone but never forgotten.

Sgt. Roberts always found the time for a laugh, and behind the double fence of a prison compound isn't the easiest place to do that. I'll never forget the last interaction we had on shift together, he was telling someone about my slow talk and country accent, then he chuckled. I'll remember him for his as well. I first met Sgt Roberts at Columbia CI. in the late 2000's. I later got to work with him again at Baker CI lately, just this past weekend before his death. He was always a kind, gentle man that was wise beyond his years and he ALWAYS saw the good in life, even behind the prison walls where we worked together. A true friend, great "boss" and just good people! He was a peacemaker that could be tough as nails when needed, but was always the first to lend a hand when you needed a hand or the first to listen when you had a problem. There will always be a DEEP VOID at work now. "Sgt. Roberts" as I always knew him, will be greatly missed and I'm forever honored to have known and worked with him over the years! The obituary included his dog Magnum. I can honestly say that it tells a lot about a family and the man, when they knew how much his dog meant to him so they recognized him as a family member who would be grieving. Our prayers are with the family.
