Ellet Everett Bias, 89 of Lake City, passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Gainesville. He was born and raised in Hewett, West Virginia to the late Ellet Clayton Bias and Tania E. Gore Bias. Mr. Bias was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp and served our country during WWII. Mr. Bias moved to Lake City in 1957 from Hewett, West Virginia. Thru his many years he had worked as a coal miner, Gulf service station owner and a well driller. He was a lifelong bear hunter, Plott hound breeder and a true mountaineer. Mr. Bias was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Betty June Albright Bias; one son, Audley James “A.J.” Bias; one great-grandson, Ronnie “Little Ronnie” Bias; and his sister, Elena Bias.
Survivors include his son Ronnie Bias (Olive), Lake City; five grandchildren, Everett Bias (BJ) and William Bias (Kim), both of Lake City, Brenda Brannon and Richard Bias both of Ft. White and Aaron Bias, Lake City; ten great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at 11:00 AM at New Beginning Church, located at, 3243 SW CR 242, Lake City, FL 32024 with Rev. Eugene Albright, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to plott.rescueme.org, to assist with Plott Hound rescue.
