Willie Arthur Carroll, 82, of Lake City, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, October 30, 2021 at the Haven-E.T. York Hospice Care Center in Gainesville after an illness. He was born in Falmouth, Florida on October 26, 1939 to the late Lonnie and Josie Warner Carroll. He has made Lake City his home for the last 42 years and was a Truck Driver by trade. He was a member of the Evangel Church of God, where he enjoyed going to church and doing any church work that he could. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, working with the JROTC program while his daughter Leah was in High School, spending time with his grandchildren and “Tinkering” around with anything. He also loved to go camping, sitting by the fire and sitting on his porch, rocking in his rocking chair. He is preceded in death by two brothers.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Melinda “Mindy” Carroll; son, Dennis Carroll (Shan); daughters, Leah Seitz (Cody), Vicki Morby (Craig) and Nicole Gunter (Rodney). Fourteen grandchildren along with numerous family and friends also survive.
A funeral service for Mr. Carroll will be conducted on Friday, November 5, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. in the Evangel Church of God with Pastor Rick Holmes officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Thursday evening, November 4, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
