Victor Andrew Pattison 89, of Lake City, Florida, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2023 in Jacksonville, Florida surrounded by family. Born on January 29, 1934, to Wilfrid L. and Helen (SinClair) Pattison, Vic grew up on Staten Island, NY, and enjoyed baseball, Boy Scouts, and graduated from Tottenville High School in 1950.
Vic attended NYU, served in the US Army, Presidential Honor Guard at Ft Meyer Va.; he earned his PhD in Chemistry from The State University of New York at Buffalo, and later an MBA at Pepperdine University. Vic led research projects for Hooker Chemical in Buffalo, NY, Occidental Petroleum in California, and OXY in White Springs, FL. He authored 17 chemical research patents.
Vic also developed programs for technical careers and was named Director of Institutional Research at Lake City Community College. Vic was passionate about education, played racquetball and golf, was active in Kiwanis and Epiphany Catholic Church in Lake City, Florida.
Vic is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Dorothy; 4 children, Ellen (William) Adolf of Buffalo, NY; Kevin (Dianne) of Dallas, Texas; Thomas of Jacksonville, FL; and Catherine of Escondido, California. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren
A Mass will be celebrated at Epiphany Catholic Church in Lake City, FL on May 24th at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Epiphany Catholic School or Catholic Charities.
