Travis Lavon “Buddy” Lee, 83, of Lake City, passed away on Sunday evening, May 15, 2022 after a sudden illness. He was born in White Springs, Florida on December 13, 1938 to the late Labron and Mimmie Harris Lee. He has made Lake City his home most of his life and was a member of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. He retired from the Army National Guard after 30 plus years of service and also retired from the Occidental Corporation after 30 years of service. Prior to working with Occidental, he worked for short stints with Lockhead and the AERO Corporation. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching western movies, tinkering on things in his shop and in his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is preceded in death by his nine siblings.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Evelyn Christie Lee of Lake City; son, Christopher Lavon Lee of Lake City; and daughter, Tammy K. Riglioni of Longwood, Florida. Two grandchildren, Michael Christopher Lee and Kristina D. Riglioni; one great-granddaughter, Stella Grace Kelly-Riglioni; and several nieces and nephews also survived.
A graveside funeral service for Buddy will be conducted on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. in the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Bo Bush officiating. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 beginning at 10:00 A.M. in the church sanctuary.
