Sylvia Lynne Martin

Sylvia Lynne Martin, 81 years of age, suddenly passed away on January 22, 2024, after an extended battle with cancer in Lake City, Fl. She was the wife/life partner of Roxanne Benn. They shared 42 years of marriage together. It truly was a match made in heaven.

Born in Springville, New York on March 5, 1942. She was the daughter of the late Arthur Evans and Dorothy Wilson (Evans) and the granddaughter of the late Helmuth and Laura Lenz. Sylvia attended Springville Griffith Institute in Springville, New York. She worked in the retail sector for many years, and she always had an entrepreneurial spirit. She opened her own retail business known as the Fish Bowl – Tropical Fish and Pet Supplies that had 3 locations in western New York. T+heir impression was felt by all those in the community for many years. She continued in other retail ventures for many years to follow. She is loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She will always be known for her no-nonsense approach and the way she could make you smile even during challenging times.

She is and always will be loved and remembered by Roxanne Lucille Benn(spouse), siblings: Karen Swift (Edward (Bud)McCarthy), Robert Altmann (Sue Pribik), Guy Evans (Barbara), William Altman and Cindy Huch. As well as her children: Bobbi Martin (Richard Anderson), Debbie Lawson (Ronnie), Robert Martin (Lee Ann), Michael Martin (Barbara), Danielle Randell (Amaury Alvarez), and the love continues with thirteen(13) grandchildren, eighteen(18) great grandchildren, one(1) great great grandchild, nephews, nieces and friends.

The Celebration of Life memorial is being held on Monday, January 29, 2024, from 2pm until 4pm at the Gateway-Forest Lawn and Funeral Home, 3596 US Highway 41, US-441, Lake City FL, 32055.
