Stephen Melton “Steve” Clyatt, 71, of Providence, passed away on Sunday afternoon, April 17, 2022 at the HCA – North Florida Hospital in Gainesville after a sudden illness. He was born in Lake City on April 9, 1951 to the late Lonnie Melton Clyatt, Jr. and Joyce Terrell Clyatt. He has been a resident of Providence all of his life; and was a member of the Old Providence Baptist Church. He worked for over 35 years as a Computer Tech with RCA/GE/IBM; and in his spare time, enjoyed restoring old cars, going to the races and drag races as well as to old car shows. He was also a Mason and Shriner; and loved his nephews, great nieces & nephews dearly.
He is survived by his brother and sister, Ricky Clyatt and Shelly Baisden; nephews, Brad Clyatt (Tracy), Jason Baisden (Courtney) and Jeremy Baisden; great nieces and nephews, Taryn, Taylor & Tyson Clyatt; Blair, Brennan, Bryleigh, Brianna, Brooklyn and Blaze Baisden. He is also survived by his very special friend, Carolyn Hosford.
A Memorial service for Steve will be held on Friday morning, April 22, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. prior to the service.
