Mrs. Sarah M. “Corky” Knox, 72, of Lake City, passed away on Wednesday morning, September 26, 2018 at the Shands Lake Shore Regional Medical Center in Lake City after an extended illness. She was born in Lake City on April 12, 1946 to the late Bernice Jones Morton and Ralph J. Morton. She was a life-long resident of Lake City and the Owner/Operator of Little Bit Country Florist for 40 years. She is a 72 year member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 57, past member of the Lake City Woman’s Club, 40 year honorary member of the Columbia County Fair Association and a graduate of the Columbia High class of 1964. She was also a member of Hopeful Baptist Church here in Lake City.
She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years; Jimmy Knox of Lake City; her two babies; Mandy and Rowdy of Lake City; sisters: Irma Louise Wehrli (George) of Lake City and Linda Gayle Babbitt (Ken) of Battle Creek, MI. five nephews, five nieces and many extended family members and friends also survive.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Corky will be conducted on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Mark Cunningham officiating. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Friday evening, September 28, 2018 at the funeral home.
