Robert "Bob" Jordan Obituary

Robert F. “Bob” Jordan, 70, of Lake City, Florida, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Christmas Eve at Select Specialty Care in Gainesville after a brief illness.

He was born in LuLu, Florida on July 13, 1950 to the late Betty Markham Jordan.  Bob lived in many cities all over Florida but lived most of his life in Lake City.  His 45-year career as a successful attorney included owning his own practice, The Jordan Law Firm.  Bob was an extremely intelligent man and was a life-long learner.  Just recently, he had taken courses at the University of Florida in Astronomy.  Bob also earned several degrees:  Bachelor of Science from University of Florida in 1971, Master of Science from Purdue University in 1972, Juris Doctor Degree at the College of Law and a master’s in business administration from the College of Business at Florida State University in 1976.  His generosity was extended to many families, friends and strangers and always helped those in need of his kindness and guidance.  But his strongest passion was his abounding family.  He enjoyed spending time with his devoted wife, his loving children and most especially his many grandchildren.  There were many happy and memorable family gatherings at the Jordan home that included the entire family over the years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Linnie F. Jordan of Lake City; sons; Blake Lunde (Stephanie) of Lake City; Leif Lunde (Shelley) of Pompano Beach, Christopher Jordan, Jonathan Jordan (Katrina), Steven Jordan all of Lake City and Michael Jordan (Krista) of Live Oak; daughters Blythe Rogers of Fort Lauderdale and Cathy Maugeri (Kent) of Lake City; two brothers Cliff Townsend and Lee Townsend and two sisters Karen Sanders and Susan Sims; seventeen grandchildren and three great grandchildren along with his faithful pup, Annie.

Robert served as a Board member of Habitat for Humanity Lake City/Columbia County since 2009.   He provided leadership to the organization along with legal guidance.  Bob was an advocate of affordable housing in Columbia County.  With this in mind, it is requested, in lieu of flowers that donations be sent to our local Habitat for Humanity Affiliate (Robert Jordan Building Fund) at: HfH.Lakecity.org or mailed to HFH, PO Box 487, Lake City, Fl 32056
