Reverend Mark Spradley Obituary

Reverend Mark Edward Spradley, 51, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 10, 2024, He is the son of Buck and Annette Spradley. Mark is preceded in death by his father Buck Spradley, one brother David “Mike” Spradley, his father-in-law Hollis Warner, his maternal grandmother Mildred Carter, and his fraternal grandparents Joe and Myrtle Spradley. Mark called Lake City his home all his life. He was a member of the Graduating class of 1990 from Columbia High School. Mark surrendered to the ministry in 1996 where he served at White Springs Baptist Church, Wellborn Baptist Church, Forest Grove Baptist Church, and Enon Baptist Church in Dawn, Missouri. He was then called back home to Lake City where he served as the Pastor at Athens Baptist Church for the past four years. Mark was on staff with the Southern Baptist Convention and worked with Disaster Relief and World Changers. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family (especially his grandchildren), he was an AVID GEORGIA BULLDOG FAN, an Atlanta Braves fan, and a NASCAR RACE fan. His favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt, Sr., and he enjoyed attending races in person as well as watching on TV. He was actively involved in his community, and as of late was serving with the Babe Ruth Little League in Lake City as the Major’s Player Agent where his two youngest sons play baseball.

Mark is survived by his wife of thirty-two years Keri Spradley of Lake City, FL, his three sons Kyle Spradley (Rachael) of White Springs, FL, Liam and Alex Spradley both of Lake City, FL,

 and one daughter Maci Joplin (Mike) of Jacksonville, FL. His mother Annette Carter Spradley of Lake City, FL, mother -in-law Joyce Warner of Lake City, FL, father-in-law Dan Stanley (Lou) of Lake City, FL, his sister Melinda Shrum (Keith) of Lake City, FL, his grandchildren Makaylah, Levi, Koda, and Lincoln. Two sisters-in-law Kristie Croft (John) and Kim Warner both of Lake City, FL. His nieces Tiffany Balster, Heather Spradley, Robin Crawford, and Emma Croft. His nephews Travis Murphy, Jay Croft, and Michael Spradley. His two best friends Donald Hollingsworth (Rita) of Lake City, FL.  Allan Tyner (Nicole) of Newberry, FL. A host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family also survive.

Funeral Services for Reverend Mark Spradley will be conducted on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. at Wellborn Baptist Church. Dr. Kyle Graham will officiate the service. assisted by Dr. Ron Thompson, Pastor Sammy Nelson, and speaker Jason Hudson. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Lake City, FL. Visitation with the family will be held Friday, March 15, 2024, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Florida Baptist Children’s Home.
