Ralph “Lindsey” Bedingfield, Sr. of Lake City passed away on Friday July 8th 2022 at age 84 following a long illness. Lindsey is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jean Etta Howard Bedingfield (Lake City, FL); his two sons Ralph L Bedingfield Jr and his wife Lori (Jacksonville, FL) and Richard Bedingfield (Atlanta, GA); and granddaughter Ellie Ann Bedingfield (Jacksonville, FL). Lindsey is preceded in death by his parents (Ralph & Beatrice Bedingfield) of Cadwell, GA and sister, Dianne Saunders of Stamford, CT.
Lindsey was a 1960 graduate of the University of Georgia Pharmacy School. After practicing as a Pharmacist in Tennessee and North Georgia, Lindsey and his family moved to Lake City in 1976 where he continued to practice pharmacy in Lake City and Live Oak for Revco, Rite Aid, Kmart, and the VA Hospital until he retired. Lindsey was a member of Parkview Baptist Church of Lake City until his illness and death.
Lindsey enjoyed the simple things in life, whether it be spending time with his two sons and granddaughter, traveling with his wife Jean, or his hobbies of metal sculpture, writing a book, gardening, or just watching his Bulldogs on TV. Those who knew Lindsey can attest to his quick wit and his dry, often sarcastic, sense of humor, which will be dearly missed.
A visitation will be held at Gateway-Forrest Lawn Funeral Home on Wednesday July 13th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association.
