Peter "Pete" Dahlberg

Peter Alan “Pete” Dahlberg, 65, of Lake City, passed away on Saturday afternoon, September 9, 2023, at the HCA – North Florida Hospital in Gainesville, after an extended illness. He was born in the Bronx, New York on September 22, 1957 and has made the Lake City area his home since 1969, moving here from the Lake Worth, Florida area. He was of the Lutheran Faith, and worked for a little over 30 years in the Saw Mill industry as a Manager and Foreman. He also served in the Florida National Guard, 153rd Combat Engineers of Lake City for a little over 12 years, until ill health prevented him from continuing. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, playing golf, working with his hands building things and all sports, but more especially the Florida Gators. He is preceded in death by his father, Leonard D. Dahlberg, Sr.; Son, Nicholas Ryan Dahlberg; and his brother, Leonard D. Dahlberg, Jr.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 18 years, Debi Dahlberg of Lake City; son, Matt Friedman of Lake City; mother, Aileen Dahlberg of Lake City; his loving fur child, Mei Zhi of Lake City; brother, Gary Dahlberg (Linda Blake) of Dadeville, AL; nephew, Jason Dahlberg (Yin) of Beijing, China; great nieces, Alma & Jessie Dahlberg also of Beijing, China.

A Celebration of Life Gathering for Pete will be held on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at the Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home. The family requests that you come casual as you are, as Pete would.
