Our beloved Mother, Milla Warren Bolding, age 97, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 16, 2023. She was born November 9, 1925, in Hillsville VA, in the Heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, to Robert and Doll Jennings Dalton. She was Baptist by faith and a member of Parkview Baptist Church in Lake City, Florida.
Milla graduated from Martin Memorial School of Nursing in Mount Airy, North Carolina as a Registered Nurse in 1946. When WW II broke out the government created the Cadet Nursing Corps. It allowed young women in Nursing to serve their country. She was selected to be sent to the VA Hospital in Lake City, Florida where she worked for thirty- four years until her retirement in 1980 as a Nursing Supervisor. After her retirement from the VA Hospital, she volunteered for Christian Services in Lake City, Florida for many years, and continued in her pursuit of mastering the game of golf. Mrs. Bolding is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband of thirty-three years John C. Warren, Jr., and William Bolding her second husband of fourteen years, and three brothers, Elwood Dalton, Weldon Dalton, and Olan Dalton.
Milla is survived by her son John C. (Johnny) Warren, III (Wanda), and her daughter Marcia Henderson (Bill). She is survived by three grandchildren, Mike Logan (Meagan), Angi Wedemeyer (John), and Melissa Purser (Wes). She is also survived by one sister, Theresa Kinder. Milla was blessed with eight precious grandchildren: Gage and Kennedy Logan, Ella, Audrey, and Walker Wedemeyer, Wyatt, Jessica, and Jake Purser.
She will be greatly missed by her family and the many friends she made throughout her life. To all of these, she leaves the memories of a lifetime of love and laughter to be cherished. It is with sadness that we say goodbye but with great joy, we celebrate her entrance into God’s Kingdom.
A private family service will be held Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Chaplain Spencer Corbett interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Lake City, FL.
