Mrs. Mildred J. “Millie” Williams, 90 of Lake City, passed away on Friday, March 12, 2021, at the Lake City Medical Center. She was born the third of six children to the late Oscar K. Mintz and Alice Smith Mintz. Mrs. Williams had made her home in Lake City since 1978 and had worked for Winn-Dixie in the North Florida area for 42 years. She was of the Baptist faith and a longtime member of Southside Baptist Church in Lake City. Mrs. Williams enjoyed fishing with her husband, coloring, bowling and spending time with her friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Tony Ray Simpson and Robert Wayne Dingman; and three sisters, Sue Sheldon, Betty Joe Wilson and Tillie Falgout.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Willie Williams, Lake City; two sons, Ronald James “Dusty” Williams (Tina), Jacksonville and Ricky Joe Williams (Vonnie), Camarillo, CA; two sisters, Alice Ivester, Lake City and Barbara Ann Borliner, Myrtle Beach, SC; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Williams will be conducted on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Herman Hampton officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
