Michael "Mike" Ray Dockery, age 68, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2024. Mike was born in Lake City, Florida to Don and Cecile Dockery in 1955. Mike attended school in Columbia County and entered the United States Army in 1973. After his service, he began a career in the construction industry. Later in life he fell in love with buying, restoring and selling vintage muscle cars. He enjoyed spending quality time with Pam, his wife of 23 years, whom he loved unconditionally. As a young man, he was thrilled by the speed of fast motorcycles and dirt bikes. Later in life, he settled into the comfort of nice lifted trucks or his Harley Sportster. He also took pride in being Papa to his grandchildren.
Mike is survived by his loving wife, who was his soulmate, Pam Dockery of Ocala, his mother, Cecile Dockery of Lake City, his son, Michael (Bree) Dockery of Orlando, his step-daughter, Kristie (Mike) Griggs of Ocala, and step-son, Justen (Teri) Moore of Orlando; his sister, Donna (David) Vignes of Montana, sister, Terri (Melvin) Bass of Fernandina Beach, brother, Scott (Janna) Dockery of Wellborn, and sister, Amy Shiver of Lake City. His grandchildren Brody and Cole Dockery, Megan and Kara Griggs, Brooklyn, Scarlett, and Archer Moore also survive along with numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Don Dockery.
A funeral service for Mr. Dockery will be conducted on Monday, April 29th at 3:00 P.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with the Pastor Elmer Crews officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 2:00 P.M. prior to the service at the funeral home.
