Martha Kay (Witt) Norris

Martha Kay Witt Norris, 64 of Lake City, passed away on Monday, December 17, 2018 at the North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville.  She was a lifelong resident of Lake City and a member of Hopeful Baptist Church.  Mrs. Norris had worked for 14 years with GE Battery in Alachua from 1974-1988 and for over 15 years in childcare.  She was always on the go and enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.  She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth E. Witt, earlier this year.

Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Wayne Norris; her mother, Louise Markham Witt; her son, Jeffrey Norris (Heidi); two brothers, Larry Witt (Claudia) and Gary Witt (Tracy); and one sister, Valerie Ryals (Rocky), all of Lake City; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, extended family and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday December 21, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Hopeful Baptist Church with Dr. Zeb Cook and Pastor Mark Cunningham officiating.  Interment will follow at Hopeful Baptist Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service at the church from 2-3:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made the Haven Suwannee Valley Hospice Care Center at 6037 W US Hwy 90, Lake City, FL 32055.  Arrangements are under the direction of GATEWAY-FOREST LAWN FUNERAL HOME, 3596 S US Hwy 441, Lake City, FL 32025.  386-752-1954 Please leave words of comfort for the family at www.gatewayforestlawn.com
