Obituary
Marion Clark Poitevint, 83 of Gilchrist County, passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at her daughter’s home in Dunnellon. She was born in Broadtop, Pennsylvania, the baby of 14 children, to the late Ralph and Maujesca Wagner Clark. Mrs. Poitevint made her home on the river in Gilchrist County following her retirement from Bell South, now AT&T, in Orlando. She was a graduate of Robertsdale High School in Broadtop, Pennsylvania. Mrs. Poitevint served the citizens of Gilchrist County for 8 years as the District 4 County Commissioner from 2014-2022. She enjoyed reading and hosting many parties for her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; 13 siblings; and her husband of 61 years, Edgar William Poitevint in March of 2023.
Survivors include her son, Michael Poitevint (Cathy), Dallas, TX; her daughter, Andrea Carter (Tony), Dunnellon, FL; four grandchildren, Sara Courneya (Brandon), Umatilla, David Carter (Caressa), Ocala, Matthew Poitevint and Allison Poitevint both of Dallas, TX; and 3 great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Braelynn and Bronx.
A celebration of life service for Mrs. Poitevint will be announced at a later date.
