Lucille Jean Benz

Mrs. Lucille Jean Benz, 98, of Lake City passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at the Lake City Medical Center following a brief illness. A native of Ashtabula, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Hillary and Leona Cummings Hayes and had moved to Florida in 1959 and had lived in Lake City since 1964. She owned and operated Imperial House of Beauty until she retired and was a member of Epiphany Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack, son, Dennis Benz, Jr., and daughters, Janis and Carol.

Mrs. Benz is survived by her grandchildren, Dennis Benz, John F. Benz, IV, Carolyn B. Curtis, Mark Forthofer, Matthew Forthofer, Marsha Forthofer, Jeffrey Williams, Teri Williams, and Christopher Williams; and several great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Benz will be conducted on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at the Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Father Bob Hoffman, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Willowbrook Assisted Living Facility, 1580 S. Marion Ave, Lake City, FL 32025.
