Lamar Thomas Munro, 74 of Lake City, passed away on Friday, November 2, 2018. He was born in Miami, Florida to the late Frederick Benjamin Munro and Susie Lambert Ward Munro. Mr. Munro had made his home in the Lake City and Branford communities since 1975. He retired with 44 years of employment with Winn-Dixie as a meat cutter and he also worked with Scaff’s for several years. Mr. Munro was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and he enjoyed music, woodworking and tinkering with his old MG’s. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Mae Munro in August of 2018, two brothers, Freddie and Donald Munro.
Survivors include his children, Lee Russell “Rusty” Munro, Lake City, Delmar A. Munro (Betty), Fayetteville, NC, Marlow M. Hinrichs (John), Lake City, Betty Sue Sweet (Wayne), Pensacola and Shalimar Lynn Drew, Lake City; two brothers, Ronald Munro, North Carolina, John Munro, Miami; one sister, Suzanne Buffett, North Carolina; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, November 9, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Tabernacle Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Norman officiating. Interment will follow privately at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 12:30 till 1:00 PM prior to the service at the church.
