Laila Rose Gonzalez

Laila Rose Gonzalez. Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia Warrior. Happiest blind babe you’d ever meet. The light of people’s lives. Determined to do the exact opposite doctors said she’d do. Obsessed with music, but Disney radio, “my girl” and the Jonas brothers had her heart at the moment. Laila gained her angel wings on Friday, April 23, 2021 in Gainesville, FL. Beautiful. Amazing. Strong willed. Happy. Loved. These are just a few words to describe her. She was born a fighter and left this earth a fighter.  Laila was preceded in death by her paternal great-grandmother, Janet Babinec.  

Survivors include her parents, Andy and Kaitlin Lane Gonzalez; her sister, Lennox Gonzalez; her brother, Remy Gonzalez; paternal grandfather and grandmother, Rene “Ray” and Patricia Gonzalez; paternal great-grandfather and great grandmother, Rene and Ana Gonzalez all of Lake City; maternal grandmother, Karen Cruciata (James), Lake City and Johnny Lane (Karen), Hallandale, FL; maternal great-grandfather and great-grandmother, James and Shirley Vining, Lake City; paternal uncle, Dominic Gonzalez, Lake City; maternal uncle, Anthony Cruciata, Lake City; paternal aunts, Janelle Gonzalez and Jacquelyn Witt (Kristopher) both of Lake City; and numerous extended family and friends.  

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Majestic Oaks Ranch at 118 NW Langford Court, Lake City, FL 32055 with Pastor Dustin Busscher officiating.  Please wear whatever colors you wish. There’s no need to wear a suit or fancy dress. A reception with food is to follow. 

The family has requested that those sending flowers, please include the colors pink and white roses in the arrangement.   

And finally as Laila would say; “don’t worry, be happy”.
