Mrs. Judy Carolyn NesSmith, 74, of White Springs, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at the Haven-Suwannee Valley Hospice Care Center in Lake City after an extended illness. She was born on January 24, 1944 to the late George and Jewell Johnson. She was a Restaurant Manager for many years and has lived in the Groveland, Lake Butler and White Springs area’s most of her life. She loved her family and children dearly. She is preceded in death by her husband of 38 years; John “Joe” NesSmith; step-sons; Tony and Timmy NesSmith; brother; William “Bill” Johnson; sisters; Sadie Lewis and Melba Wilbanks
She is survived by her sons; Gordon Jennings (Karen) of Kingsland, GA, Michael Jennings (Marie) of Worthington Springs, and step-son; David NesSmith (Rolan) of Denver, CO; daughters; Joei Ogburn (Jeff) of Lake City, Crystal Jennings Cantrell (Newell) of MacClenny, and step-daughter, Diane Waters of Lake City; brother; Lawrence Johnson of Groveland; sisters; Leona Davis of Gray, GA and Peggy Sykes of Louisianna. Twenty-five grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren along with her best friend; Pat Pafford of Lake City also survives.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted on Monday, May 21, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. in the Oak Grove Cemetery (Union County) with Pastor Randy Ogburn officiating. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:00 P.M. at the Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be considered to Haven-Suwannee Valley Hospice.
