Josephine A. LeClerc, 87, of Lake City, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2023 at the Bedrock Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lake City after an extended illness. She was born in Watertown, Florida on September 29, 1935 to the late Sim Kirby and Mae Bullard Kirby. She has made Lake City her home most of her life and was self-employed in the Marketing Industry for many years for which she won many awards and recognitions. She attended the Glad Tidings Assembly of God for many years and in her spare time she enjoyed reading her bible, spending time with her children and grandchildren and tending to her plants, especially her azaleas. She is preceded in death by her husband, George F. “Jeff” LeClerc; son, Allan Dale Sims; daughter, Wendy Y. Marker; her brother, Robert K. Kirby and her sister, Anna Mae Rodgers.
She is survived by her son, Thomas J. “TJ” Sims (Linda); her daughter, Sherry Snipes (George); brothers, William H. Kirby, James A. Kirby, Sim H. Kirby, Jr., Harry F. Kirby and Clifford J. Kirby. Six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.
A funeral service for Mrs. LeClerc will be conducted on Monday, April 3, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Pastor James Richardson officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home prior to the service.
