John Wayne Rhoden, 81 of Lake City, passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2021, at the Haven Suwannee Valley Hospice Care Center in Lake City. He was born in Wellborn, Florida to the late Hardy and Grace Inez Stancil Rhoden. Mr. Rhoden lived all his life in Lake City and worked for over 18 years with AERO. He was a member of the Lake City Church of God and he enjoyed reading and old antique cars. Mr. Rhoden was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Virgil and Wendell Rhoden.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Sue Rhoden; one daughter, Melissa Clark (Kevin), Pinson, AL; one sister, Peggy Hutchins, Live Oak; one grandson, Elijah Clark; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Rhoden will be conducted on Monday, December 27, 2021 at 1:00 PM at the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Pastor Carl Thomas of the Lake City Church of God officiating. Interment will follow at a later date at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service on Monday from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 PM.
