John Walter Graham, 90, of Ft. White, passed away peacefully on Thursday afternoon, March 31, 2022 at the Haven-Suwannee Valley Hospice Care Center after an extended illness. He was born in Live Oak on June 29, 1931 and was a 1950 graduate of Taylor High School, where he lettered in Football and Basketball. After high school, he enlisted in the US Air Force, where he served from 1950-1972, retiring as a Tech Sargent. He was life member of the Disabled American Veterans, the Vet Power of America Organizations and the Vineyard Church of Lake City. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, swimming, collecting animals, watching football, especially the Florida Gators and supporting the CHS Tigers. He also loved music and singing; he loved his family dearly and the Lord. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry Edward Graham and Matilda Terrell Graham; his first wife, Myrtle Floyd Graham; his grandson, James William Graham; his brothers, Henry Edward Graham, Jr., William Earl Graham, Harry R. Graham, Sam Graham and Wesley Graham; and his sisters, Mary Roy, Ruth Conger & Dorothy Adams.
He is survived by his wife of thirteen years, Imogene L. Graham; children, Thomas Alan Graham (Lisa) of St, Augustine, Paula Richards (William) of Lake City and John Timothy Graham of Ft. White; and his brother, James B. Graham (Jessica) of Ocala. Seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren also survive.
A funeral service for Mr. Graham will be conducted on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Dr. Bo Hammock officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday evening, April 8, 2022 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
