Jill Thompson Cayton, age 36, of Bakersfield, California, passed away on November 10, 2021 in Titusville, Florida. Graveside services will be held 2 PM Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Ebenezer Cemetery, Lake City, Florida. Arrangements are by Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Services will be live-streamed via Facebook by visiting Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home and Crematory. Jill Thompson Cayton was born in Bakersfield, California to John and Julie Thompson on April 15, 1985. She grew up and attended school in the Bakersfield area and studied Art at Taft College. Jill married Steven Rockwell Cayton on February 11, 2011 at Playalinda Beach, Florida. Jill has worked as an office manager for a psychiatry practice and was a proponent for mental health awareness. Some of her creative interests included modeling, photography and fine art. Jill was a lover of all animals including her beloved menagerie of fur babies at home, and was a protector and rescuer of many including several wolf dogs. Jill was involved in promoting animal health and advocacy, and was a true friend to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed. Jill is survived by her husband Steven Cayton, parents John and Julie Thompson, siblings Jennifer Brown, Joanna Goulding Kester, Joni Thompson, James Thompson, Jacqueline Kontoes, Josie Chen and countless nieces, nephews and family members. She will be missed by her mother-in law Chrisanne Waughtel, brother-in-law Tobias Cayton and the many others whose lives she touched. Memorial donations may be given to the ASPCA.
