Jerry Eldon Snowberger

Jerry Eldon Snowberger, 86, of Lake City, went to be with his Lord and Svior on Wednesday morning, April 3, 2024 at the WillowCreek Assisted Living Facility after a brief illness. He was born December 13, 1937 in Damascus, Ohio, and was the son of the late Frances L. Snowberger. Jerry was a 1955 graduate of Salem, Ohio High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1961 until 1970 in the U.S., Germany and 1969-1970 in Vietnam, where he received the Bronze Star.

He retired from the Lake City VA Medical Center in 1998. Jerry remained active, working at Lowes, Quail Heights Golf Course and finally as secretary of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Jerry also was an avid lifetime golfer and billiard player. He is preceded in death by his son, James Snowberger.

He leaves behind his ex-wife and forever friend, Ruth.

He was a longtime member and served in many different capacities at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church of Lake City.

Per Mr. Snowberger’s wishes, he will be cremated, and a memorial service will be held at Philippi Baptist Church on Friday, April 19, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Hugh Sherrill officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction and care of GATEWAY-FOREST LAWN FUNERAL HOME.
