Janet Burnsed Graddy

Janet Burnsed Graddy, 67, of Lake City, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at the HCA Florida- Lake City Hospital after a brief illness. She was born in Orange Park, Florida on December 2, 1954 to the late Albert Burnsed and Mary Lou Alford Burnsed. She has made Lake City her home since the mid-1960’s and worked for a little over 28 years with the VA Medical Center. She was a member of the Vineyard Church, where she was known as the “cake whisperer” amongst the congregation for her delicious baked cakes. In her spare time, she also enjoyed traveling, going to the beach, cooking, and collecting Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls with her sister. She is preceded in death by her son, Christopher Graddy.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Curtis Graddy of Lake City; son, Dustin Graddy of Duval County; sister, Ann Burnsed Foster (Bill) of Lake City and her brother, Keith Burnsed (Liz) of Lake City. Several nieces, nephews great nieces and nephews, especially her great niece, Bella Foster, whom she very much adored also survive.

A funeral service for Janet will be conducted on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Pastor Bo Hammock of the Vineyard Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations please be considered to the Vineyard Church.
