Iris Juanita Norris, 76, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at the North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville. She was born in Lake City, the only child, to the late Murray Marcus Hillhouse and Rosa Lee Harrell Hillhouse. Mrs. Norris lived most of her life in Lake City and had previously worked for Hasty House, the Texaco at I-75 and was also the manager at the Diana Shop when it burnt. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Wellborn. If you knew Mrs. Norris, you knew that she loved her coffee and watching Florida State Football with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband of 35 years, Hollis Michael Norris in 2017.
Survivors include her two children, Marc Law (Kelly), Bryceville, FL and Tonya Law Besaw (Robert), Royal Palm Beach, FL; seven grandchildren, Amber, Bobby, Marcus, Chasity, Larry, Scott and Christopher; eleven great-grandchildren, Dakota, Kelcie, Bubba, Devin, Andréa, Calista, Emma, Larry, Rayna, Taygan and Carter; and numerous extended family and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Norris will be conducted on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Dr. Mike Tatem officiating. Interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery will follow at a later date. A time of visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Thornwell Foster Care at 302 S. Broad St., Clinton, SC 29325 in memory of Mrs. Norris.
