Hazel Bernice (Williams) Hancock

Hazel Bernice Williams Hancock, 100, of Lake City, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, August 18, 2023, after an extended illness. She was born in Lake City on December 16, 1922 to the late Marvin W. and Lillian North Williams. She was a life-long resident of Lake City and was a Beautician for over 50 plus years, owning her own shop, Hazel Hancock’s Beauty Shop. Her job was her main hobby, but outside of work she enjoyed spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Hancock in 1976 and her son, Robert F. Hancock in 2002; along with four siblings.

She is survived by her sister, Sallie Rae Williams of Lake City along with many nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service for Mrs. Hancock will be conducted on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. in the Memorial Cemetery with Rev. John Harrison officiating. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 10:30 A.M. prior to the service at the graveside.
