Gregory Allen Waldron, Sr.

Mr. Gregory Allen Waldron, Sr., 67, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2023, at the North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida, following an extended illness. He was born in Lake City, Florida, on March 23, 1955, to the late Blaine and Ora Lee Waldron and is preceded in death by two brothers, Arlie Waldron, and J.B. Waldron; four sisters, Annette Boone, Faye James, Susie Fowler, and Jeanette Waldron; and a son-in-law, the late Fire Chief Randy Burnham. Gregory was a Lake City native and lifelong resident that enjoyed spending time with his family, rooting for the Green Bay Packers and Florida Gators at any opportunity, watching Nascar, with his favorite driver being Kyle Bush, and spending time with his wife and their dog, Sam, at their secondary residence in Fargo, Georgia.

Gregory is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Shirley Waldron; daughter, Marsha Burnham; two sons, Gregory "Turkey" Waldron Jr. (Madison) and his four-legged son Sam; three grandchildren, Brent Burnham (Marisa), Deven Burnham, Gregory "Trey" Waldron III; and one great-grandchild, Lawson Burnham, all of Lake City, FL. Three brothers, Edgar Waldron, Pennsylvania; Claude Waldron (Nelda), Providence, FL.; and Donnie Waldron, Lake City, FL. Two sisters, Cathy Beavers, North Carolina, and Teresa Polbos (Tammy), Lake City, FL. Mother-in-law, Shirley Berry, Lake City, FL.; sister-in-law, Lonnie Jean Boozer (David), Lake City, FL.; brother-in-law, Leroy Jenkins, Lulu, Florida; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services for Mr. Gregory Allen Waldron, Sr. will be held Thursday, March 2, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Lonnie Johns officiating in the Chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Lake City, Florida. Visitation with the family will be held Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
