Gordon Ray “Buddy” Mudd, 74 of Fort White, Florida, passed away late Sunday night, December 13, 2020, at the Lake City Medical Center in Lake City, Florida. He was born at home in Rockport, Spencer County, Indiana, to the late Anderson Mudd and Iva Mae Hack Mudd. Mr. Mudd had made his home in Fort White for the past ten years having previously been a longtime resident of Wimauma, Florida. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served two tours in Vietnam. Mr. Mudd owned and operated both Mudd’s Land Clearing and Mudd’s Trucking in the Wimauma and Ruskin communities. He also served as a volunteer fireman in Wimauma for many years including 6 years as Captain. Mr. Mudd was of the Baptist faith and he enjoyed drag racing and most recently rebuilding antique tractors and being active in the North Florida Antique Tractor Club.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Karen S. Mudd, Fort White; his daughter, Christi Dube (Reginald, Jr.), Fort White; his sister, Betty Joyce Clark, Palmetto, FL; his three grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Reginald “Joey” Dube, III, (Heather) and their children, Michael, Kera, Jacob, Ritamarie and Christian, Robert Dube and his children, Teagan, Austin and Killian, and Dylan Mudd and his son Blaize, all of Lake City; nephews and nieces, Jimmy Clark, Jr., Kimberly Bunce, Michael Clark, David Clark, Pamela Way, Billy Clark, Jeffrey Woodruff and their spouses.
Funeral services for Mr. Mudd will be conducted on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at 2:00 PM in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Interment will be on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the Rabbit Flat Cemetery in Caneyville, Kentucky under the direction of Dermitt Funeral Home.
