Glenn Scott Gilbee, 58, of Lake City, passed away on Friday, March 19, 2021 after a sudden illness. Glenn was born in Ann Arbor, MI on June 1st, 1962 making him only 58 years old when he passed. He lived there for the better part of his life until moving to Lake City, FL in the end of 2003. Lake City is where he would call home until his time of passing. He spent his younger adult years traveling the country as a cable TV lineman. Glenn later became a Journeyman certified carpenter, which he spent the better part of 30 years as. After almost 30 years of working in the carpentry industry, Glenn started his own business An Xtra Hand LLC, which he successfully ran until his passing. He loved working with his hands on anything that kept him outside from woodworking to gardening. Glenn found church and the lord in the later part of his life and became a good hard working, Christian man who was loved by his church family and most of his customers. He is preceded in death by his brother James Gilbee Jr., his father James Gilbee Sr., and his mother, Corrine Radike.
He is survived by his wife, Shelley Gilbee; son, Michael Gilbee and Daughter in Law- Allison Gilbee; granddaughter, Leilah Gilbee; stepdaughter, Dawn Danner; grandsons, Landon Bruns and Nolan Bruns; sisters, Donna Hawarny, Mary Gilbee Saites; brother, Jeffery Gilbee and sister-in-law, Julie Gilbee; nieces and nephews, Rob Hawarny, Chrissy Garden, Nicholas Saites Jr., Alexander Saites, Jessica Saites and Savannah Gilbee. Many extended family and friends also survive.
A memorial service will be held for Glenn on Saturday April 10th, 2021 at 1pm. It will be held at Bible Baptist Church in Live Oak, FL. Cremation arrangements are under the direction and care of GATEWAY-FOREST LAWN FUNERAL HOME.
