Frank Young Obituary

Dr. Frankie Lee Young, Capt., USA (RET), 60 of Wellborn, Florida and former longtime resident of Elgin, Texas, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at the Lake City Medical Center in Lake City, Florida.  He was born in Shreveport, LA and had recently moved to Wellborn in November of 2019.  Dr. Young was a retired Helicopter Pilot with the United States Army having retired in 1998.  He was the “Jack of All Trades” being able to adapt to every situation in life and be successful in doing so.  Dr. Young was very active in researching his family’s genealogy and loved sharing and spending time with his family. Dr. Young was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and attended the Branford Ward in Branford, Florida. 

Survivors include his wife, Yvonne M. Young; his father, Ronnie Young (Diana) and mother, Patricia Lykins (George); loving father and grandfather to five children and their families, Amanda Bryant (Joseph) and children Aaron and Annabelle, Nicholas Young (Kayla), Joshua Fish (Melanie) and children, Jason, Cerek, Emma and Samuel Lee, Jesse Booth and  Jamie Buchannan and children, Cheyenne, Raven, Dakota and Savannah; one brother, Cord Young; and one sister, Julie Young-McManus.

Services will be held at a later date at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, TX with military honors.
