Frank Rufford Townsend, Jr.

Frank Rufford Townsend, Jr, 81, of Lake Butler, passed away on Monday evening, February 24, 2020 at the North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida. He was born in Safety Harbor, Florida on October 13, 1938 to the late Frank Rufford, Sr. and Ada Mae Lominick Townsend. He has made the High Springs area his home most of his life, recently moving to Lake Butler a little more than a year ago. He was a mechanic and truck driver by trade who enjoyed tinkering around with anything in his spare time. He also enjoyed fishing and gardening. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Ada Morrell; and his sisters, Frances and Mae Lee Townsend.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Barbara Ann Townsend of Lake Butler; son, Frankie Townsend, III (Kelly) of Lake Butler; step-son, Randy Trim of High Springs; brother, Joe Townsend (Nellie) of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Tracy Townsend, James Avery, Darby Trimm and Dalton Trimm; step-grandchildren, Rachel Clark, Jamie Clark and Megan Conners. Great grandchild, Emma Townsend along with his step-great-grandchildren, Peyton Matthews, Lawton Howard and Camdyn Clark also survive.

Memorial services for Mr. Townsend will be conducted at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction and care of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
