Frances Arlene Lee Carter, 71, of Lake City passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at the Haven-Suwannee Valley Hospice Care Center after an extended illness. She was born in Homestead, FL on January 17, 1950 to the late Finley Drew Lee and Mary Ella Wright Lee. She has made Lake City her home since 2004, moving here from the Lakeland Area. She worked as a LPN for a short time as well as an Information Operator with Southern Bell. In her spare time, she enjoyed being with her family, watching old movies, listening to oldies music, gardening and reading. She attended Mt. Carmel Baptist Church here in Lake City.
She is survived by her husband of 31 ½ years, Donald Dean Carter; son, Jeffrey Hunter; daughters, Tammy Hunter, Kristina Wethington (Jeffrey) and Wendy Rennie (Berry); brother, Ronald Drew Lee (Betty). Five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several extended family members and friends also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Carter will be conducted on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at 3:00 P.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jeffrey Wethington officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 (two hours prior to the services) at the funeral home.
