Pastor Folice “Pete” Lynwood Carroll 89, passed away on Friday, October 6, 2023, at the Suwannee Valley Care Center (Haven Hospice) after an extended illness. He is the son of the late David Wilson and Bertha Mable Hancock Carroll. He was preceded in death by two brothers Clearance “Dick’ Carroll and David W. Carroll and four sisters Alice Louise Sweeten, Selma Gladin, Mary Bullard, and Genell McCall. Mr. Pete had lived in Lake City all his life and was the Pastor of the Lake City Congregational Holiness Church in Water Town, FL. for the past thirty-nine years. He enjoyed tinkering and building things, playing the guitar and singing, Blue Grass Gospel music, fishing, riding horses, having a dog, reading his bible, and refurbishing old furniture.
Mr. Pete is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years Vicky Carroll four sons Clayton Lynwood Carroll (Debbie) Lulu, FL; Ronnie Russ (Janice), David Carroll (LeaAnn), and Clint Carroll (Amy) all of Lake City, FL; and one sister Lois Croft (Pete Croft) Lulu, FL; and six grandchildren also survive.
Funeral Services for Pastor Pete Carroll will be conducted on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Reverend Randy Ogburn officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to service.
