Evelyn Marie Royals Cribbs, 91, of Lake City, passed away early Tuesday morning, October 12, 2021 after an extended illness. She was born in Jasper, Florida on January 30, 1930 to the late Johnny Rufus Eddins and Mattie Stacey Eddins. She has made Lake City her home since 1968, moving here from Waycross, GA. She was a waitress for the Magnolia BBQ for over 25 years and also owned a couple of restaurants as well. In her spare time, she loved to crochet, play bingo, loved casinos, loved lottery tickets and working with her flowers. She loved her family dearly, and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Dan Royals; daughter, Martha Hutto Crafton and granddaughter, Melissa Marie Chambliss.
She is survived by her sons, Eugene Royals (Nancy), Dan Royals, Jr. (Jennifer) and Chris Royals (Cindy) all of Lake City; daughters, Linda Roady (Chris) of Tallahassee; Rosa Royals Chambliss (Larry) of Haskell, OK and Tammy Lynn Kavanagh of Lake City. Fourteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren also survive.
A funeral service for Mrs. Cribbs will be held on Friday, October 15, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Pastor Richard Harrison officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 1:00 P.M. on Friday prior to the services.
