Eston Francis “Frank” Albury, Jr., 74 of High Springs, passed away on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at his home. He was born and raised in the Tampa area and had made Columbia County his home since 1971. Mr. Albury earned his Bachelor Degree from Florida Atlantic and his Master’s Degree from the University of North Florida. He worked for 40 years with the Columbia County School System working at both the Ft. White School and Columbia High School. He served for 20 years with the Columbia County Sheriff’s Auxiliary Reserve. Mr. Albury then served as a Columbia County Commissioner from 1994-1998 for District 2. Following retirement, Mr. Albury then worked 7 years with Lowes Home Improvement in Lake City. He was currently a member of St. Madeleine Catholic Church in High Springs, was a former longtime member of Epiphany Catholic Church in Lake City and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Albury was a former youth baseball coach and also a football coach for Ft. White Middle School. He loved to work his land on any one of his many John Deere Tractors, spending time with his family and friends and traveling to the mountains.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia A. Albury, High Springs; three children, Mychelle Albury, Lake City, Eston F. Albury, III (Darcy), Savannah, GA and Joseph D. “Jody” Albury, Ft. Walton Beach, FL; eight grandchildren, Ashlei Albury, Brandon Owens, Kyrsten Owens and Christian Owens all of Lake City, and Eston F. Albury, IV (Sarah), Jordan Albury, Delaney Albury and Maddox Albury all of Savannah, GA.
A memorial service for Mr. Albury will be conducted on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at 4:00 PM in the Gateway Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Father Bob Hoffman officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home . A live stream of the services will be viewable by visiting Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home on Facebook.
