Elaine Abraham, 73 of Lake Butler, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, February 20, 2023. She was born in Hamilton County, Ohio, the oldest of five children, to the late Sterling Alexander and Rose Wages Alexander. Mrs. Abraham had recently moved to Lake Butler to be with her family and was previously a longtime resident of Lake City and Jacksonville. She was a Christian and attended New Life Christian Church in Lake City when she was able. Mrs. Abraham was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years in 2021, Colonel Hardy Abraham; and one brother, Kenny Alexander.
Survivors include her two sons, Brian Abraham (Amy), Lake Butler and Michael Abraham (Erin), Laramie, WY; three sisters, Cheryl Alexander, Jacksonville, Jenny Alexander, Summerville, SC and Carol Smith (John), Jacksonville; seven grandchildren, Brendan Hummel, Dustin Abraham and Rebecca Abraham all of Laramie, WY, Clay Abraham (Jessica), Bronson, Deanna Bullard (Hunter), Lake City, Eric Abraham, Lake Butler and Brett Abraham, Lake Butler; and two great-grandchildren, Berkleigh Bullard and Baby Abraham due in August of 2023.
Funeral services for Mrs. Abraham will be conducted on Friday, February 24, 2023 at 3:00 PM in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Bro. Paul O’Steen, pastor of Sardis Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
