Edward "Ed" McKnight

Edward “Ed” McKnight, 95, of Lady Lake, formerly of Lake City, passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2023 after an extended illness. He was born in Carrabelle, FL on March 24, 1928 to the late Edward R. McKnight and Margaret Blonquist McKnight. He was a United States Navy Veteran and worked for many years as a Computer Specialist with insurance companies for many years. He was a faithful member of the 1st Presbyterian Church here in Lake City for many years. Ed was a member of the Lake City Masonic Lodge #27, where he was an Honorary Worshipful Master and was a member of the Curfew Masonic Lodge #73. He was also a past member of the Shrine Club, Scottish Rite and York Rite. He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, June McKnight in 2012 and his brother, Basil McKnight.

He is survived by his son, David McKnight (Janet McKnight) of The Villages along with several nieces and nephews also survive.

A memorial service for Ed will be conducted on Veterans Day, Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 11:00 A.M., in the 1st Presbyterian Church with Rev. Kenneth L. Goodrich, II, officiating. A reception in the church fellowship hall will immediately follow the service. Cremation arrangements are under the direction and care of GATEWAY-FOREST LAWN FUNERAL HOME.
