Dwayne Brian Cormier, 48, of Lake City, passed away on Tuesday evening, October 19, 2021 at the Shands University of Florida Hospital in Gainesville after an extended illness. He was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on August 11, 1973. He has made Lake City his home for most of his life and was a member of Old Providence Baptist Church. He was an Insulation Man and worked for the past eleven years with Suncoast Insulation in Gainesville. He was known as a “jack of all trades”, accomplishing anything he set his mind too; and was also a “work-a-holic”. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing softball, watching football, rooting for the Miami Hurricanes and fishing. He is preceded in death by his mother, Judith Ann Cormier.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Jeannine Cormier of Lake City; father, John Raymond Cormier, Jr. of Lake City; sons, Christopher Garringer and Timothy Garringer both of Lake City; siblings, John Cormier, III (Uschi), Jeff Cormier and Stephanie Cormier all of Lake City. One grandchild, Asher along with many extended family members and friends also survive.
A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, October 25, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel.
