Doris Witt Tillotson Touchton, 94, of Lake City, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, November 26, 2022 at the Haven Hospice – Suwannee Valley Care Center after a brief illness. She was born in Lake City on July 12, 1928 to the late Cody C. Witt and Catherine Lackey Witt. She was a life-long resident of Lake City and was a milk distributor for over 32 years; working as the owner/operator of Tillotson’s Sealtest Milk. She was a member of the Southside Baptist Church; and in her spare time, she enjoyed skating when she was younger, dancing, floating down the Ichetucknee River and photography. She is preceded in death by her first husband of 32 years, Jimmy Tillotson; her second husband, Nick Touchton; her daughter, Cathy Tillotson Bryner and her sister, Lou Gillen.
She is survived by her son, Mike Tillotson (Sandy) of Lake City and her sister, Jackie Brannon of Lake City; niece, Jan Brannon & nephew, Wayne Brannon both of Lake City. Four grandchildren, Michelle Russell, Mandi Tillotson Sloan (Drew), Micah Tillotson (Apryll) and Jacob Tillotson (Taylor); Nine great-grandchildren, Dalton, Blayke, Jaiden, Bronsen, Evan, Ty, Arabella, Austin, Brady, and numerous family members and friends also survive.
A Funeral Service for Mrs. Touchton will be conducted on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel With Pastor Chris Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations please be considered to Southside Baptist Church or the Shriner’s / St. Jude’s Hospital.
