Mrs. Diane Smith Edenfield, 62, of Lake City, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at the Shands Regional Medical Center in Lake City. She was born in Homerville, Georgia on November 22, 1955 to Margie Irene and the late Calvin Smith. She has been a life-long resident of the Lake City area and was a paralegal for over 30 years. She was a member of The Cross Church in Ellisville, where she enjoyed working with the children’s church. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, crafting and embroidering. She loved her family dearly, but more especially her two precious grandchildren who she adored. She is preceded in death by her father; Calvin Smith.
She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years; Rev. Kenneth Edenfield of Lake City; mother; Irene Smith of Lake City; daughters; Kendra Victoria (Henry) of Jacksonville and Rachel Tomalis (David) of Jacksonville; twin sister, Donna Higgs (ED) of Lake City and Louise “Weegie” Garcia (Ernest) of Lake City. Her two precious grandchildren; Isabella Victoria and Haven Tomalis also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Edenfield will be conducted on Monday, October 8, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. in The Cross Church with Pastor Eddie Blalock officiating, assisted by Rev. James Roberts. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 3:00-5:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be considered to The Cross Church Building Fund, 12518 South Hwy 441, Lake City, Florida 32025.
