Dathna V. Henry, 64 of Lake City, passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at her home in Lake City. She was born in Greenville, Mississippi to the late James Ramsey Hammers, Sr. and Sadie V. Mercer Hammers. Dathna was raised in Lake City and was a graduate of Columbia High School class of 1974. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Florida and her Master's in Business Administration from Florida Southern College in 1991. Ms Henry was a faithful member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church and loved being active with her church family. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, reading and spending time with her grandchildren and family.
Survivors include her children, Christopher Henry (Ann), Charlotte, NC, James R. Henry (Shannon), Sebring and Kelli Henry (Travis Cowder), Sebring; her brother, Jim Hammers (Amanda), Monticello; her sister, Patricia Humphries (Gary), Jacksonville; maternal uncle, R.B. Mercer, Bethany, LA; maternal aunts, Oliva Gentiles (Tommy), Denham Springs, LA and Joyce White (Jesse), Amite, LA; and her three grandchildren, Sarah, Alexis and Keigan.
A memorial service to honor her life will be held on Sunday, January 10, 2020 at 3:00 PM at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church in Lake City. Visitation with family will be one hour prior to the service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Private interment will be held at a later date at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
